"We knew just as the sun would rise tomorrow that we would one day gain our independence..we just did not think we would be here to see it..."
Mrs.Halima Mohammed (Teacher Trainer..TTI, Asmara, Eritrea)
With those eloquent words spoken by Mrs. Mohammed, a 12 year veteran of the independence struggle, I realized the unwavering conviction that these Tegadelti [fighters] had that they would one day achieve their ultimate objective, the independence of Eritrea from Ethiopia.
As a documentary filmmaker you're supposed to keep a objective viewpoint and not allow your personal feeling to be in anyway reflected onto your film, but I must just say how proud I am of these brave women [and men] whose contributions and sacrifices in the armed independence struggle helped give birth to Africa's youngest nation.
I hope by that by viewing the QuickTime trailer and listening to the personal story of Terhas Iyassu and her family, you will come to your own conclusion about the role that these brave women played in the formation of Eritrea and its long terms effects on society as a whole.
Thank You
